Zehra Fırat graduated from Ankara University SBF Public Finance Department in 2004. She gained the SMMM title in 2008, and worked in Türk Telekom AŞ. between 2010-2012.  While she was the manager of a private enterprise of her own, she started her academic career by getting a master's degree in business administration at Gelişim University. She had the PhD degree from the same university in 2020  working on internal auditing. She has studies on issues such as measuring the performance of internal audit and raising awareness. She serves on various international congress committees science and advisory boards.​
